Stress is an awful thing to experience but believe it or not, it can be used to our advantage. I use a four step process to help you learn strategies so you can do more than just cope. Once you’ve got stress under control, you understand what stress is telling you in order to change your life for the better. Together we will:
Identify the triggers that are causing you stress
Learn why these are particular triggers for you
Change how you react to stressful situations
Build your confidence to use stress to your advantage
I've suffered with stress when my first marriage ended, when I became overwhelmed in my first management post and when I worked for an organisation where I didn't share their values. These, and other stressful periods, eventually affected my health - both physically and mentally.
Changing my mindset around stress has resulted in huge personal successes for me including running my own learning and developing consultancy; achieving work/life balance and relocating to live beside the sea; coaching clients to change their lives and performance as well as running masterclasses on coaching at the Wales Annual Coaching Conference.
Having been a coach, mentor and trainer for 25 years I have amassed a huge toolbox of useful techniques that have helped me address and utilise stress. As your coach/mentor I will share these techniques with your so you too have the right mindset to improve your life and performance.

When we're stressed, we become very insular, anxious and often can catastrophise unnecessarily! When this happens, it's hard to take a step back and get any perspective on the situation. Coaching is ideal for this, as when we talk through your stresses and worries, I'll look out for assumptions, thought patterns and triggers that keep you in your old mindset.
Unlike some talking therapies, coaching isn't about delving into your past. Instead it's about looking to the future and moving you forward. Although we might talk about your life in general and what's led you to this point, the focus is on what's happening now and planning a way forward that is right for you, so you can utilise your stress properly.
Coaching is simply a conversation between you and me to help you explore what's causing you stress and support you on your journey to utilising the stress as a catalyst for change. Stress doesn't have to rule your life and together we will find techniques, strategies and tools that work for you so you can think more positively and feel more resilient!
